Minimal graphs for matching extensions

چکیده
Given a positive integer n we find a graph G = (V,E) on |V | = n vertices with a minimum number of edges such that for any pair of non adjacent vertices x, y the graph G − x − y contains a (almost) perfect matching M . Intuitively the non edge xy and M form a (almost) perfect matching of G. Similarly we determine a graph G = (V,E) with a minimum number of edges such that for any matching M̄ of the complement Ḡ of G with size bn2 c − 1, G− V (M̄) contains an edge e. Here M̄ and the edge e of G form a (almost) perfect matching of Ḡ. We characterize these minimal graphs for all values of n.

Cohen-Macaulay $r$-partite graphs with minimal clique cover
In this paper, we give some necessary conditions for an $r$-partite graph such that the edge ring of the graph is Cohen-Macaulay. It is proved that if there exists a cover of an $r$-partite Cohen-Macaulay graph by disjoint cliques of size $r$, then such a cover is unique.
متن کاملMatching Integral Graphs of Small Order
In this paper, we study matching integral graphs of small order. A graph is called matching integral if the zeros of its matching polynomial are all integers. Matching integral graphs were first studied by Akbari, Khalashi, etc. They characterized all traceable graphs which are matching integral. They studied matching integral regular graphs. Furthermore, it has been shown that there is no matc...
متن کاملGeneralization of matching extensions in graphs-combinatorial interpretation of orthogonal and q-orthogonal polynomials
In this paper, we present generalization of matching extensions in graphs and we derive combinatorial interpretation of wide classes of orthogonal and q-orthogonal polynomials. Specifically, we assign general weights to complete graphs, cycles and chains or paths defining matching extensions in these graphs. The generalized matching polynomials of these graphs have recurrences defining various ...
متن کاملCapturing Topology in Graph Pattern Matching
Graph pattern matching is often defined in terms of subgraph isomorphism, an np-complete problem. To lower its complexity, various extensions of graph simulation have been considered instead. These extensions allow pattern matching to be conducted in cubic-time. However, they fall short of capturing the topology of data graphs, i.e., graphs may have a structure drastically different from patter...
متن کاملA note on minimal matching covered graphs
A graph is called matching covered if for its every edge there is a maximum matching containing it. It is shown that minimal matching covered graphs contain a perfect matching.
